Opioid abuse effects every community in the United States. Opioid overdose is now the leading cause of accidental death, and the rates are not subsiding. Now police departments across the country are being asked to deal with the extremely dangerous synthetic opioid, fentanyl.
This course will instruct officers on the history of the crisis, how to recognize signs of abuse and overdose and how to combat the illicit drug operations in their community.
This two-day course will consist of lecture, case studies and best practice for safely handling of fentanyl as life saving techniques from exposure / overdose.
