PATC E-NewsletterLong Time PATC Instructor Stan B. Walters Designated
Certified Speaking Professional (CSP)

(August 19, 2010) Stan B. Walters, expert in interview and interrogation and an instructor for PATC for more than twenty years, has earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation. Established in 1980, the CSP is the speaking profession’s international measure of speaking experience and skill. Fewer than 10% of the speakers worldwide who belong to the Global Speakers Federation hold this prestigious professional designation.

The CSP designation is conferred by the National Speakers Association (NSA) and the Global Speakers Federation (GSF) only on accomplished professional speakers who have earned it by meeting strict criteria. CSPs must document a proven track record of continuing speaking experience and expertise as well as a commitment to ongoing education, outstanding client service and ethical behavior.  The certification process included an extensive audit and verification of Walters’ clients, presentations, performance evaluations and course content.  Walters is one of 18 professionals to earn the CSP in the class of 2010. Walters was honored during a ceremony on July 18th at the 2010 NSA Convention in Orlando, Florida.

Walters authored the text Principles of Kinesic Interview & Interrogation; 2nd Ed. that is in use in police academies and university and college criminal justice programs worldwide. His book The Truth About Lying: How to Spot A Lie and Protect Yourself From Deception has been translated in five languages. He has served as s subject matter expert on interview and interrogation to Johns Hopkins University and participated as a researcher in a major deception research study conducted through the John Jay College in cooperation with the N.Y.P.D, the New York District Attorney’s Office and the US Department of State.  He is co-author of several scientific papers that have been published regarding the results of that study.  His personal research into the science of interrogation includes the videotaped interviews of more than 1200 inmates in 26 prisons in 16 states and one foreign country. He has been profiled twice on the National Geographic Channel and served as the technical advisor and host of the National Geographic Channel special “Science of Interrogation” that is still being aired worldwide. He has also appeared on ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC.

As one of the many top rated PATC instructors, students have experience Walters’ professional level of presentations and expertise while attending his Practical Kinesic Interview & Interrogation® Level 1 and 2 courses and the Practical Kinesic Roadside & Field Interview Technique course.

The National Speakers Association (NSA) is the leading organization for professional speakers. NSA's thousands of members include experts in a variety of industries and disciplines, who reach audiences as trainers, educators, humorists, motivators, consultants, authors and more.  Since 1973, NSA has provided resources and education designed to advance the skills, integrity and value of its members and speaking profession.
