South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy
Randy King has been a police officer for
20 years, joining the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy
in 1990. Currently a state law enforcement officer, Randy
was with the Columbia Police Department for 10 years and
served in various capacities including that as a supervisor
over the Vice Unit and De-Centralized Special Response Team
and worked several years in the Narcotics Unit. Randy also
worked in specialized traffic enforcement programs with
the Columbia Police Department.
Randy heads the State Academy’s Traffic
Safety Unit, which provides traffic investigative and enforcement
training for South Carolina Law Enforcement. Randy also
oversees the operation of both the Advanced DUI detection
and Police Traffic RADAR programs for the State of South
Carolina. Randy has an extensive traffic enforcement and
investigative training background in both Collision Investigative
Courses through Reconstruction and Enforcement Courses to
include Public Safety Checkpoints, Advanced DUI Detection
SFST, and In-Car Mobile Video for Law Enforcement.
Randy’s Traffic Safety Unit is currently
conducting the Traffic Safety Officer program (TSO) in which
state certification is awarded to those officers successfully
completing an extensive course curriculum. Randy has been
qualified as an expert witness in both collision investigative
and traffic enforcement related criminal proceedings.Randy
has authored and co-authored several training manuals, At-Scene
Traffic Accident Investigation, Technical Traffic Accident
Investigation, Advanced Application in Traffic Investigation
and Traffic Laws and Their Application. Randy is a member
of National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction
Specialists.
Randy has a Bachelor of Science Degree and
a Graduate of IPTM Advanced Accident Investigation. |
