Mr. Alentado has over 22 years of law enforcement
experience. He spent twelve years as a police officer in
Florida working patrol, special operations, vice, narcotics
and training. Nine of his years, he assumed collateral duties
of SWAT officer. For ten years, prior to his retirement,
he worked for the FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING CENTER
(FLETC). At FLETC, José was an instructor in the
Physical Techniques Division, Enforcement Techniques Division
and eventually became the Program Manager for the Law Enforcement
Spanish Training Program (LESTP) for FLETC, in Tucson, Arizona.
José has developed the 3 day and 5
day Spanish Training Programs, as well as the 2 week Customs
Service Spanish Instructor Training Program. José
is a Law Enforcement Master Spanish Instructor and is recognized
nationally as one of the leading experts of technical Spanish
Programs. His work in the field has been recognized by the
Federal Law Enforcement Training Center by awarding him
eight performance awards. Mr. Alentado's programs may be
the only programs and instructor in the country to have
been independently evaluated and found the instructor and
course to be efficient for the length of presentation. He
has a Bachelors Degree from Valdosta State University in
Criminal Justice and Adult Education.
