David D. Taylor is a former Law Enforcement
Officer having over 19 years of sworn law enforcement experience,
and is also a December 2000, graduate from the Florida Coastal
School of Law, in Jacksonville, Florida.
David last served as a Deputy Sheriff with
the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, in Ocala, Florida,
and held the rank of Legal Investigator serving in the Sheriff’s
Legal Service Bureau. While a Legal Investigator, he was
assigned to the Homicide Division in the Ocala Office of
the Office of the State Attorney—Fifth Judicial Circuit.
During his 19 year sworn law enforcement
career, he spent over half of it as a detective mainly conducting
investigations of violence crimes that had been committed
against persons. David is an active member of the IHIA (International
Homicide Investigator’s Association).
Currently, David is an adjunct instructor
of Criminology at St. Leo University, and he also frequently
lectures at the University of South Florida in Tampa on
Injury, Death and Homicide Investigations to the School’s
Social Service and Criminology majors.
