5 Day Homicide & Forensic Death Investigation

NOTE: Must Show ID at Registration. This five day training module will help the Homicide/Death Investigator in putting pieces of the puzzle together.
Day One:
Will focus on Cold Case Homicides and the Three Phases of Homicide Investigation: Crime Scene, Follow-up, Case and Courtroom Preparation.
Day Two:
Will focus on the Examination of the Crime Scene, Scene Contamination, Crime Scene Interpretation and Critical Pieces of Evidence.
Day Three:
Will focus on the importance of the Homicide Crime Scene Reconstruction through the use of Blood Spatter and Blood Stain Interpretation in the Investigative Process.
Note: There will be classroom practical exercises conducting Blood Stain Interpretation.
Day Four:
Will focus on the Medical and Forensic Cause of Death and Homicide. Time of Death and Decomposition, Blunt Trauma, Sudden Natural Deaths, Firearm Deaths, Drug Related Deaths, Cutting and Stabbing Deaths, Pediatric Deaths and the information that can be provided by the Medical Examiner to assist in the Homicide and Death Investigation.
Day Five:
Will focus on Procedural Issues in the Use of Deadly Force, Case Law, Subject and Witness Officer's Rights, and Garrity Issues. |
