Phase II Advanced Kinesic Interrogation Techniques®

Length of Seminar: 3 Days
Instructor: Stan B. Walters or Daniel E. Sosnowski

Course Overview:
The concepts of Advanced Kinesic Interrogation Phase recognize the complexity of human behavior and communication. It combines not only the principles of basic Kinesics in terms of speech and body language, but also those same behaviors exhibited in written statements. It also suggests that those same behaviors of speech and body language can give insight into the individual’s personality type and its variations, indicating what might be characterized as the “psychological fingerprint” of that particular person. By combining the information received through diagnosis of verbal and nonverbal behavior with this psychological fingerprint, an interviewer can conduct an interview and interrogation that is specifically profiled or tailored for the subject.

When interrogating, the interviewer uses Practical Kinesic Analysis Phase to gather information about the subject’s emotional and mental state in response to the interrogation, much as a traveler uses a map to determine his current location or which route to take or avoid. At the same time, the interviewer develops a profile of the subject that allows him to use a tailored interrogation approach for that subject. This subject-specific approach is referred to as a “Practical Kinesic Interrogation Phase.”

The Practical Kinesic Interrogation Phase involves the interviewer determining the subject’s frame of mind in response to the interview stress. It also assists the interviewer in determining if the subject is suffering some personality disorder or psychosis that would have an impact on the interviewer’s attack. The interviewer determines the subject’s specific personality type, thereby permitting him to understand how the subject thinks, his strengths to be avoided and weaknesses that must be exploited. Finally, the interviewer must determine the ego defense mechanisms the subject has put in place, which are designed to keep them from having to face the reality of their actions. The interrogator must identify these mechanisms and disarm each one in order to obtain admission or confession.

Attendees will be provided the information and knowledge to successfully conduct an interrogation based upon the following objectives of subject response analysis.

The Stress Response States - Subjects under the stress of deception during the interrogation generate identifiable responses to stress that can be controlled in order to facilitate confession.

The Primary Dominant Personalities - The identification of the different subject is personality types and the appropriate strategies necessary to successfully interrogate and gain confessions from each type.

Sub-Verbal Encryption - This section explores the phenomenon in which an individual actually indicates through verbal encoding, key information indicating personality type, criminal motivation, situational response to interview stress which can be used by the interviewer to streamline productive information gathering.

Tactical Kinesic Interrogation - The intelligent combination of Stress Response State Analysis, Primary Dominant Personality Identification and Sub-Verbal Encryption techniques required to conduct the tactical subject interrogation necessary to assist in gaining the admission or confession from even the most difficult subject’s.
