Course Overview:
This three day course will provide the skills to conduct fire investigations with successful prosecution of civil and/or criminal charges. The course will be classroom with many practical exercises to enhance learning skills.

Show how critical courtroom testimony is to the fire investigator
Demonstrate how to assemble mass amounts of fire information into a complete statistical analysis
Illustrate what can go wrong and/or right in a fire investigation
Illustrate proven methods to illicit information from witnesses
Illustrate proven methods to illicit confessions from suspects
How to tell when suspects are being deceptive
Illustrate digital media and its use in fire investigation
Illustrate how to conduct background investigations on suspects using the
Internet, collected databases and subpoenas
Demonstrate the effective use of Data Acquisition Units and Thermocouples
Illustrate how technology is changing the presentation of fire investigations
Demonstrate how to initiate, create and document a full-scale fire reconstruction
