The issue of retaliation liability poses substantial challenges to supervisors in all sectors, and public safety is no exception. Legislation such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”), and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (“Title VII”) all provide employees with significant protections against retaliation—even in instances where no underlying discrimination is found to have ever occurred.

The purpose of this training is to provide the attendee with a working knowledge of what constitutes unlawful retaliation and the means by which those risks can be minimized.
